I
recently found this image and was taken back by the
resemblance to Karen. I put it on my computer
screen and told Ashley to take a look. She responded
with, "Who took that picture of my Mommy?"
That was reassurance enough for me that this does look
like Karen and I had to add it to this
page.

Winter
Angel by Jon-William Brown was sent to me by email a few
weeks before Karen died. I do not know who sent it,
nor have I heard from them since. I copied it and gave
it to my granddaughter, Ashley, the day of her mother's
funeral. I told her this is how Mommy looks now and
that she lives in Heaven. I saw her taking it out and
looking at it several times during the funeral service and I
felt it helped her understand how an angel is different than
the way we are in this life. How can a 6 year old
comprehend that her mother is gone?

Starlight
Angel ©
Linda Gabdois. Ashley and I used to play a little game
at night when we saw the stars. I'd tell her to find
the brightest star in the sky, and she would anxiously
search and finally say, "There she is, there's
Mommy!" One night, Ashley said, "I can even
see her wings moving Grandma, can't you?" I told
her that her eyes were much better than mine. The
Starlight Angel reminds me of all the nights we looked at
the stars searching for Karen.

The
Angel of Light and Sound, ©
Atmara Rebecca Cloe
of New
World Creations, struck me as an angel greeting someone
that has just begun their journey to Heaven. I can
almost hear her saying, "This way! Come,
let me help you."
