I am having so much fun making jewelry.  One of the best parts of beading is that there are so many different stitches and styles.  I started with stringing jewelry and have learned several beading stitches in the past year.  I have books and patterns but I often just take off on my own and create what is in my head like I did with the Hattie's Hope for Breast Cancer Awareness bracelets.  I tell my husband that these are one-of-a-kind and it is hard to part with them, so I am sharing the photos with you so you can see the different types of beading I have been doing.  Most I have made to fit me, some I have given away as gifts and some were made to sell to help support my beading habit.  More will be added as I have time.

The items below were made as gifts for Christmas 2004

and are not for sale.

Shortly before Christmas, my mother said that someday she would like to have a turquoise necklace.  At a bead show, I searched for the right turquoise, coral and Hill Tribe sterling silver pendant.  They seem to go together so beautifully.  I made two bracelets to compliment the necklace, one with coral and one without.

A mother's bracelet seemed ideal for my daughter-in-law Regina.  Her two children's names, Abbey and Robby, are spelled out in block beads.  The children's and parent's birthstones dangle from the bracelet.  All the beads are either sterling silver or Swarovski crystal.

This is the first rosary I made.  The Ave beads are amethyst, Bonnie's birthstone, and the Pater beads are Swarovski crystal.  The crucifix, center and other small beads are sterling silver.  The 3 Ave beads below the center are Swarovski teardrops to represent the tears of happiness and sadness shed by a mother.  Bonnie's name is engraved on the back of the crucifix.

Although Ashley is not Catholic, she requested a rosary too.  The Ave beads are jade because Ashley's middle name is Jade.  The Pater beads are message beads and have words inscribed on them that I want Ashley to remember and live by throughout her life: Faith, Hope, Love, Laugh, Family and Kindness.  The crucifix, center, message beads and smaller beads are sterling silver.  Ashley's name is engraved on the back of the crucifix.
